KEFC…….”Imagination is more important than knowledge”

Appearance are often deceptive this is one of the things which gives justice to that statement. (KEFC) Kalyan East Football Club is one of the best football clubs in Thane district. Well that’s not a self proclaimed statement the team has stated there intentions very clear; Club that didn’t have any identity or rather any entity 3 years before; But now has created many talent...with the club set to play its first major league TDFA (Thane Division Football Association) has proved its presence by picking the second spot it and becoming the Thane Division Runner up’s.

Moreover we are that lucky that we are blessed with a great ground “Bhorpada” after which the club was previously named after. A ground that we consider as our mother is situated in the interiors of the Kalyan in between a small village. It is not actually a football ground but for us is nothing less than Old Trafford or Wembley

Players here play the godly game with lots a passion n dedication. One thing is true that many of you could beat these players in terms of skills.....but definitely not in terms of obsession they carry for this beautiful game on the earth.

Anybody can join this club just with a single criteria....and that’s he must be a die hard fan of this game......HAIL KEFC!!!!

Oop’s!!! I am in love………….

Oop’s!!! I am in love………….

People say love is a blessing but I used to think “Whether that is true???” I used to sit in the last bench of my class and see the so called love birds or couples of my class fighting. It came in my mind many times to ask them that “hey guys are u blessed and if yes; then why fights” but being new to the class I never dared to ask anything to any one….by seeing all this I decided that I will stay away from this infection of ‘LOVE’.

But one fine day I saw her in my class she was not that beautiful or extraordinary but still she was good simple and sweet. Being part of a same classroom it took three long months to start a conversation with every one but for her I only took 2 months… I was surprised that “how can a girl talk to a dumb boy like me and that to in two months?? But still I was happy that all this things was true.

Don’t worry guys I still don’t believe that love is a blessing!!!!!!!

I used to talk a lot with her because I never had that much friends and she only being the one. It happened like I went outside for a tour for two or three days. I don’t know what happened to me but really I started missing her. All the way in my journey I tried not to think about her but that was ‘unstoppable’.

Now start worrying guys I am in love!!!!!!!!!

The loneliness started from that day in my life and believe me its still with me. I came back to my place called her up and proposed her. It was not surprising for her but surely embarrassing. I can’t assure about the surprise and embarrassing but I can guarantee that it was the most unromantic proposal made by any boy. She said me not but for that I was not surprised. But as I said it was JUST ‘UNSTOPPABLE’.

I thought that will lead to an end to our friendship but it never did happen that way, we became best friends after that and gradually my small crush developed into a deep and sincere feeling. My life changed I spent most of the time with her in college, and after reaching home talking to her again via mobile became a common scenario. I enjoyed flirting with her between our talks and even fighting often. I started being jealous of all my friends who had girlfriends but very little I could do to change her mind.

Still we are best friends and she knows that I love her so much but still she never had such feelings for me. Earlier I was afraid that whether she will be my friend one day or not but now she is next to me almost every time and still I find something incomplete. I started hating all those movies which says “if we will love some one by our heart we will get that person”. I can’t conclude anything as I myself is searching for a conclusion. But I can guarantee one thing that I am enjoying every bit of this feeling and in the end I would like to say that ‘ONE SIDED LOVE ROCKS ‘…………..

Passion leads to commitment.

Passion leads to commitment.

I still remember those days again late at home, my mom saying “what’s there in the game 22 players running behind a single ball”. But if you will about that to me I will say “If there is anything important in my life that’s football, its not about passing, its not about dribbling, its not about scoring goals; its about touching the sky for a moment, I believe that there’s life in that 6 inch diameter, it is in my DNA, feel the fever of the crowd and hear the roar of the people. It’s not just a game its life”.

I started my carrier as a defensive midfielder or in a much better way as a player who never even used to wear shoes and only knowing that we have to kick the ball and get it past the goalkeeper into the net. It was very hurting those days to play with the senior players. They never used to pass the ball and forced me to clear the ball whenever I got a pass. But I can’t ignore the fact that they taught me more than anyone in this world. I started learning the game quickly and soon realized my position as a right back. I used to practice a lot and started following the game and many players. I was so dedicated that I gradually changed my hairstyle, dressing style and many other things.

I started playing at higher levels by participating in many major tournaments. I was happy with my performance and the situation but all this things was regarding my game. But I needed to sacrifice and face different problems. I have to bunk my lectures and go for practice. I have to fight with my parents for bunking and most importantly I can’t even call her sometimes but still I went for almost all practice sessions. And finally at the time of match I found myself nowhere in the squad. I asked the reason why?????? They said you are not yet ready for the match. Imagine after bearing so much of problems I am out. I found may other players who were not that deserving playing in my position. That gave a pinch to me and at that moment I decided that I want to be the permanent right back of the team.

And now after 8 long months I became the captain of Birla College and became the first choice right back for my home team (KEFC). I never wanted to make football as a profession as this is a neglected game in India; but still believe that life rocks in that 6 inch diameter.

I can understand that if this is the condition of a tiny player like me then what about other big stars, it is easy to say I play football but practically it should be I struggle to play football in such a cricket oriented country.

Stars started showing its real colors !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Stars started showing its real colors !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The seven star college of thane district have drop outs of more than 150 students in FYJC (commerce).

Bibin Alexander. Thane (Kalyan).

All that glitters is not gold……… Birla College, kalyan this is the thing which gives justice to the statement.

4th May, was not a usual day for Birla College Kalyan as the result of FYJC students from commerce faculty was declared. It might be quite surprising to hear that the college which is accredited 7 stars by NAAC committee has got dropouts of around 170 students in FYJC commerce stream.

The final lists for the admissions in FYJC commerce stream closed in 80% last year; so the students who got admissions must have scored at least above 75%. But it was very disappointing to see that from the total strength of near about 790 students only 17 students have scored distinction, 213 students have scored grade 1, 217 students are passed with condonation, 2 students with pass grade and as mentioned above around 170 students failed miserabely. Even after scoring 70% in tenth we cannot completely blame or question on the ability of students but the authorities can be blamed as the number of students failed is not just one, two, or three, but it is a bunch of whole 170 students.

By seeing this scenario the question which arises is why the college has taken permissions from the University for starting Msc. in Economics and Management if condition of FYJC (Commerce) which is the base itself is so terrible and weak.

The two queries still left in the minds of students and there parents is does Birla college deserves 7 stars accredition and are the students in safe hands.

2 teenagers in search of revolution !!

2 teenagers in search of revolution !!

The two football players from Kalyan East Football Club (KEFC) naming Akendra Shahi and Girish Gopalakrishnan are working for a cause by giving application for a football ground in KALYAN (East).

The two boys are working from many days behind this purpose under the guidance of Vice President of Human Rights Mr. Chetan Suryavanshi. The boys are of the opinion that “there is no football ground in Kalyan (East) and if provided then there will be increase in the popularity of the game”. They feel that the place where there team practice is not proper and has got an uncertain surface which risks injuries and even in this condition they managed to pick the runner up spot in Thane Division and they are sure that if better facilities will be provided then they will do better.

They have submitted a letter to the mayor of the city, the Municipal Commissioner, and one to the concerned officer of (KDMC) Kalyan Dombevili Municipal Corporation. They are expecting a positive reply soon by the concerned authority.

It is so impressive and motivating to see the two boys has taken this step just for a single and simple reason i.e. there love towards there game.

Is Education a Business?

Is Education a Business?

The school fees of the suburb have been increased accordingly after the decision of increasing the school fees has been declared by the government.

As soon as the decision was passed the school fees has been increased from the new academic year 2009-10. Some schools have doubled there actual fees and some have increased there fees by 10% to 30%. The parents are suffering from a great deal of problems because of this situation.

When spoke to the principal if Model English High School Mrs. Prabha regarding this situation she said “ The unaided schools as to make use of the fees of the students for expenses right from the day to the maintenance of the school so they didn’t have any alternative as such.

The parent of a student from St. Jude’s school said that “The increase in fee is not justified in the time of recession when everybody is facing financial problems and people are becoming jobless while many are facing salary cuts," The parents are complaining that they have to pay rs 400 for a fifth standard student excluding the computer fee for rs 50 per month which was previously rs 275 and rs 25 respectively. The people are saying that it is very difficult for students from poor financial background to peruse education in this current scenario.

In the amidst of the period of recession and such a terrible hike in the school fees the parents are forced to believe to the statement that “Good teachers are costly, bad teachers cost more”

Cow dung pond in residential place

Cow dung pond in residential place

Right in the front of the cattle Shed at nana pawshe chowk. Kalyan (E), there is large dumping zone of cow dung, along with a societal dustbin which is surrounded by residential place and a tuition classes

The people near nana pawshe chowk are under terrible condition due to the presence of such an unhygienic scenario their house. The workers of the cattle shed dump kgs of cow dung everyday because of which the dumping zone becomes a pond in rainy season. The people living in the residence have given various complaints stating this that, many people are suffering from different health problems because of its presence.

The complaint has been given to K.D.M.C and the case is also registered against the cattle shed owners few years back. But due to the influence of the owner the case is closed and there is no change in the condition rather it is getting worse.

Every year many people complaint about this problem but no one is interested or ready to help or hear to this plea of many. If this situation is soon not brought in control in coming years this can lead to various epidemics and contagious diseases…

Water LOG IN & no LOG OUT!!!!!!

Water LOG IN & no LOG OUT!!!!!!

The construction of skywalk of Kalyan has started due to which the road has been blocked and the rain water doesn’t have any space to drain off creating water logging.

The Kalyan (west) area just outside the station is facing the problem of water logging right from the day after it has rained quite nicely to an extend this Saturday. The water has logged in the rickshaw stand because of which people can’t even reach the main road properly. They have to cross the rickshaw stand by walking from the water which is above the ankle level.

The rain has just started 3 days prior and that to its not yet rained properly and the people are expecting more showers. If the current scenario is so bad then what will be the condition with further increase in rainfall. On of the student of Birla college who uses this road regularly has said “if the sky walk has to build, they must have precautions to avoid water logging”. The pedestrians are complaining that from past three days we are facing this problem and till now (KDMC) Kalyan Dombevili Municipal Corporation are not taking any efforts to eradicate this problem.

The problem of water logging in this area has been reported every year and it is quite surprising to hear that the KDMC is not taking any measures to control it. If soon the situation will not be brought under control then the reincarnation of 26th July is not that far.

Party of thief’s…………

Party of thief’s…………

The residents of Ammu Apartment, Kalyan (w) were stunned when they came to know that 8 houses of their building have been robbed at Wednesday afternoon.

All the 8 houses which were robbed had residents which go for work. So because of that the house was empty at afternoon and the robbers took advantage of this situation and broke the locks. The 8 house in total was looted in total of 2 computers, sum of 2 lakhs and jewelry costing around 1 lakhs.

Police came and took charge of the incident and the case is still under investigation. One of the residents said that “this is the second case in this area reported in this two months and it is the inability of our police department that the criminals are not yet behind the bars”.

It was quite a breath taking incident which occurred and the question which is still remaining is “Whether it is safe to be out of our houses?”

Thane’s football awakening…………..

Thane’s football awakening…………..

The Thane District Football Association (T.D.F.A) had its curtain call on at MPF ground at 1st of July.

The final match played between western united and soccer 11 were witnessed by some senior protagonist in the field of football. The match was played under the supervision of Mr. Rajan Salvi, a FIFA approved referee which witnessed Western United’s thumping Soccer 11. They won the match 7-0 with a hat-trick from skipper Saket Sharma.

The award distribution ceremony followed the match. The chief guest was Mr. Henry Fernandez, former Indian player. His speech was very simple but to every one’s surprise it was an eye popper. His views although was known to all but no one hardly spared a thought on those valuable views. He agitated “when I talk about cricket children say I want to become Sachin Tendulkar, when I talk about hockey people say I want to be like Dhanraj Pillai, but when I talk about football children say I want to be like Beckham or Ronaldo. That’s were Indian Football miserably”. An electrifying wave was set which travelled through the nerves of very audience present bitterly.

After that, winners were announced Western United and Century Rayon being adjudged the winners of elite division and 1st division respectively. Runners up were Soccer 11 in Elite Division and (K.E.F.C) Kalyan East Football Club in 1st Division.

Although the surprise package was undoubtedly Kalyan East Football Club (K.E.F.C). A team that was a rookie in the league but gutted out top clubs to pave their way to the runner’s up spot. A team that hardly had any sponsors, no proper ground to play, no big players but still they put forth a fairy tale run. It was this team that proved that all other amenities are just secondary all you need is a big heart, love for the game and an optimistic approach to achieve wonders.

In the end it was dawned to every one that Indian Football needs recognition from grass root level and this is what such tournament aims at.
